Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Alnilam and getalnilam.com are run by Colibri Apps LLC, 30 N Gould St, Suite R, Sheridan, WY 82801, USA ("we", "us"). We are responsible for the personal data described here. For anything about your data, write to contact@getalnilam.com.

2. What stays on your phone

The following is stored only on your device and is never sent to us:

• your birth date, birth time and birth place;
• your chart and every reading computed from it (astral, numerology, Chinese astrology);
• your evening answers and your accuracy score;
• your settings, such as the appearance.

Alnilam computes every reading on the phone, with no server. Deleting the app deletes all of this.

3. What we receive, and why

• Account details. Your first name, last name and email address. We use them to send the six-digit code that confirms your address, to identify your account, to link your plan to it, and to write to you about your account or a significant change to our terms. We do not send marketing email unless you ask for it.
• Plan status. Whether you have a plan, which one, where you bought it, and when it renews or ends. We need this to open the paid parts of the app on your phones.
• Payments on our website. Stripe handles the payment. We receive your email address, the plan, the amount, the date and the country of your card, never your full card number.
• Purchases in the App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google handles the payment. We receive only the status of your plan, never your card or bank details.
• Waiting list. If you leave your email address on our website before the app is out, we use it once, to tell you when Alnilam is available, then delete the list.
• Messages to us. If you write to contact@getalnilam.com, we keep the exchange to answer you.

Our legal grounds, where the law asks for them: running the contract with you (account, plan), our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure, your consent (waiting list, location), and our legal duties (keeping payment records).

4. Weather and location

To show local weather, the app sends your approximate location (latitude and longitude) to MET Norway, the Norwegian public weather service, without your name or email address. We do not receive or store your location. You can refuse the location permission; the app keeps working, without the weather.

5. What we do not do

• No advertising, and no advertising identifiers.
• No analytics or tracking tools, in the app or on the website.
• No tracking across other apps or websites.
• No sale or sharing of your personal data, for money or otherwise.
• No use of your data to train artificial intelligence.

6. Cookies

Our website sets no cookies of its own. On the payment page only, Stripe may set cookies that it needs to process the payment and prevent fraud.

7. Service providers

We use a small number of providers, who act on our instructions and may not use your data for anything else:

• Cloudflare hosts the website and our account server, and forwards email sent to contact@getalnilam.com.
• Resend sends the six-digit confirmation code.
• Stripe processes payments made on our website.
• RevenueCat keeps the status of your plan in step between the website, the App Store and Google Play.
• Apple and Google process payments made in their stores.
• MET Norway provides the weather (it receives a location only, as described above).

Some of these providers are in the United States. Where the law requires it, transfers outside your country are covered by the safeguards the providers offer, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

8. How long we keep it

• Account details and plan status: while your account is open. When you delete your account, we erase them within 30 days.
• Payment records: as long as tax and accounting law requires, usually up to seven years. They are kept by Stripe and by us, and are not used for anything else.
• Waiting list: until we have sent the one email announcing the app, then deleted.
• Messages to us: up to two years after the last exchange.

9. Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to show, correct, export or delete the personal data we hold about you, or object to how we use it. You can delete your account from Settings in the app, at getalnilam.com/delete-account, or by writing to contact@getalnilam.com. We answer within 30 days.

If you are in the European Union, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you can also complain to your local data protection authority. California residents have the rights set out in the CCPA; we do not sell or share personal information as it defines those terms, and we will not treat you differently for using your rights.

10. Age

Alnilam is for adults and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you think we have, write to us and we will delete it.

11. Security

Data sent between the app, the website and our server is encrypted in transit. Access to account data is limited to the people who need it to run the service. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your data, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.

12. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. For a significant change, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
